Our water heater thingy packed up today. Or rather, it was boiling away, filling the cupboard with steam and splashed water and the top tank lid was bouncing around. My guess is a broken thermostat or something.
Anyway, I turned it all off and called a plumber, who will arrive tomorrow sometime.
In the mean time, no hot water
At least my heating isn’t dependent on it
Update: Plumber arrived, replaced several bits, cleaned up mess and then charged me £WTFOMG!
At least it’s working again.
At the weekend, our AEG dishwasher stopped working. After a few attempts to do whatever it does, it would stop and sound an alarm.
I finally got through to their service centre yesterday and had an engineer around this morning (between 6 and 7am – impressive!).
Sadly, it seems the casing is broken and the device just dumps water into the lower bowels, so the happy chappy charged my £67.97 (inc VAT) for the ‘estimate’ and will later tell me how much it’s going to cost to repair, or more likely replace. I suppose it is about 7 years old, so had a good run.
So until then, we’ll have to scrub our pots and pans manually – what horror
