In my current condition, I cannot consume:
- alcohol
- black and red pepper
- chillis
- caffeine
- chocolate/cocoa
- tomatoes
- fatty foods
- anything fried
- onions
- garlic
- cinnamon
- cloves
- peppermint
- and more…
But basically, beer and curry is right out, as is coffee and chocolate brownies.
What superb timing!
I’ve adjusted this blog’s tag line until things are sorted.

Oh dear, that sounds awful. There’s at least 10 things on that list I’d find it hard to live without
Hope you get well again soon!
Thanks. It’s certainly going to be a grim Christmas food-wise. Will have to postpone it until I’m well again
Hmmm. As you know I have a restrictive diet due to my sucky kidneys and I would like to say you adjust…. but I’m allowed fatty foods. And curry. Sorry mate, your life is over
Bummer. How long do you have to restrict yourself for?
My two NHS doctors are a bit vague on the subject – one of them didn’t even mention diet at all, and I’m sure that if she had, I would have had a lot less pain.
Extracting practical advice is like getting blood from a stone
My other NHS doc eluded to bland food consumption. Assorted online medical resources and my pharmacist filled in the rest.
All in, a wide range of values from “a few days” to “several months” have been offered.
I intend to stay off the interesting stuff for a week or two, then slowly introduce them back.
I’ve also referred myself to a specialist to (hopefully) get proper answers.
