iPhone fixed

Yay, the iPhone 2 software upgrade has finally been release, under the guise of version 2.01.

Since upgrading this morning, I’ve noticied:

  • Very cool game, Aurora Feint no longer crashes on startup. Hurrah!
  • I’m down to half charge after just 90 mins since full charge. Boo! (and no, I haven’t been playing AF for 90 mins - hardly touched it)

I know good and evil has to be balanced in this world, but does it have to be on my phone?

I’ve got to admit that the batter on the new iPhone is pants compared to the old one. I used to get a days heavy use out of it, now it’s down to half a day. Sorely tempted to turn off 3G unless I need it. Shame the same can’t be done for the GPS.

Can you not just turn off Location Services in General Settings?

Does that actually turn the GPS off?

Dunno, but there’d be no reason for it to be on.

Actually, I seem to remember somewhere that GPS is off anyway unless it is actively being used - like with Maps app open and location button toggled on…
