I've generally found the iPhone software to be pretty good, considering it's fairly new. There are definitely some 2G/3G transition issues, but that's one of the most tricky things to get right.

Having owned one of those Motorola RAZR things myself (a V3), my assessment is that the software is more buggy that the version 1 avionics of an Airbus. Texting would stop working frequently, as would calls - both of which could only be resolved by removing the battery. After I had the phone for about 12 months, the keyboard backlight stopped working, and would only function at times of special celebration (Bar Mitzvahs and the like). Knowing some of the people that work on the software - I can understand why.
