It is oft observed that there are few women in IT. Certainly, in my experience, there have been a lot more blokes than women, but today, I particularly observed:
my wife is in IT (and proper development too, I’m rather pleased to say)
in my team at work, women out-number chaps 2:1

So, I did some research (Google is rubbish, by the way) and found a reputable drive-through car wash at the big Sainsbury’s in Greenwich. Bit of a trek, but everything else nearby looks highly dubious.
Went for a “number 2″ program (out of 3) as would seem to be a good first start.

I’ve had Herman for just over a month now and he’s getting a bit dirty.
I can’t easily clean him myself, as there’s no access to water in the underground car park, nor anywhere convenient outside.
So I’ll probably have to take him to a car wash. Or maybe get him valeted. The latter seems like an expensive habit [...]
Last weekend, we went to visit my mum and step-dad in Gloucestershire. This was a first longish trip in Herman and a welcome return to the place where I grew up. All very peaceful and rural and all that.

Looks like the clown is going to win. Blimey. I never really thought it would happen. Oh well, should be interesting times.
Partly because I didn’t get enough sleep… and partly because it’s 6.30am and we still don’t know who’s the new London Mayor. Lucky I didn’t stay up.
It’s the London Mayoral Elections today and for the London Assembly - whatever that is.
I registered to vote by post, but of course forget to get it sorted in time. I’m not sure who I’d have voted for anyway. Plenty of candidates that are a joke, and the few sensible ones seem lacking.
