We do clean out the inside once a year. Outside it gets to a level of dirty then doesn't proceed beyond that. Doesn't matter to us - we usually keep the car until it dies before we get a new one. The one that we sold on, we valeted and cleaned before the sale - came up shiny inside and out. I like to think the dirt gives it extra protection, but actually it's just laziness.
