This year is a leap year and today, February 29, is the traditional day for women to propose marriage to men.
So if you’re a confirmed bachelor, maybe it’s best to stay at home today.

After the demise of my iBook, we needed a replacement for wireless interwebbing at home.
Lo! a shiny new MacBook has been ordered and shall be delivered in a week or two, but why does ‘3 days’ on Apple’s website always translate to two weeks once they’ve taken your payment?

Just noticed my bank, First Direct, has declared itself fully functional with Safari.
It’s been touch and go over the last year or two; when they updated their site recently, Safari wasn’t supported at all - I had to use Firefox. Euuugh
Better news, they even have special support for iPhone and iPod Touch, so I [...]

I’ve always known that being a member of Facebook is a good way to leak personal information about yourself to those that can profit by it, so I’d removed things like full date-of-birth, information relating to family etc from my public profile.

It would seem that I have paid a great deal of money to Travelodge over the last day or three. Seems unlikely as I was in Barcelona, but that’s what my credit card statements say.
My bank seems to agree that this is unlikely and they are in the process of sorting it out.
Here’s hoping it [...]

Tomorrow, wife and I are going to Barcelona for the weekend, so like many people, I decided to print out my lastminute.com e-ticket and hotel vouchers. Nothing unusual there.
However, the printer started to make some very weird noises, screwed up the paper and eventually completely jammed. I could see bits of paper jammed in the [...]
iBook seems to have relapsed after a spirited recovery.
It was taking a long time to boot, Spotlight felt it was necessary to reindex the drive, then would crash and repeat. After a single-user disk repair session it wouldn’t boot at all, in fact it didn’t seem to be getting power.
Battery and mains adaptor are fine, [...]

Some time ago, I allowed that Outlook sucks. Wanderingstan seems to agree, and does so most eloquently. Thanks Stan.
