So I’m on holiday (or as I’m in the US of A, on vacation).
I’m in NYC and have been for two and a half days after a week in Las Vegas, yet I seem unable to stay away from the office, and it’s all by coincidence.
Our hotel here, it turns out, is one block away from the my NY office – the one I worked in for a week a few months back.
Whilst out shopping yesterday, we must have passed it a couple of times.
Today, on a bus tour, we passed it again.
Last night, we went to the bar in the Hudson hotel where I stayed on business a couple of months back… it’s a much better bar when you go there with your wife
although the expense account is sorely missed
I have no compulsion to go in to the office, but it feels a bit odd being so close and am worried that I may not go around it fast enough to achieve escape velocity….

You seem to spend your entire life on holiday these days. It’s not fair and I insist you stop
That said, I’ve been off for the past 3 days and I’m thinking of booking a big block of 2 weeks of doing sod all in the very near future.
Oi! this is only my 3rd week of holiday this year but I still have 9 days left
